I made an object and converted it to a symbol. Now I want to edit the object but still keep the original. (So basically I want two symbols but one just be a modified version of the original) However, Macromedia won't let me edit the original even if I convert it to a new symbol.. anyone know whats wrong?Macromedia?
When you copy a symbol Flash considers both the original and the copy as one. So when you edit one, flash applies changes to the other. You have to first turn one of the copies into a (dont know what to call it) non-symbol i guess by clicking ctrl+B until its not a symbol anymore. Then convert it to a symbol that has a different name. Idk for sure this would work, or whether i am even answering your question because ur not explaining yourself clearly but i hope this helps.Macromedia?
No i don't no whats wrong.About Macro media i heard from people that you cant run 2 symbols at a time.
Try and duplicate the symbol, then trace the bitmap or ctrl b, then edit the object, and convert it to a symbol again.
